Hi,

I've previously installed LED strips to my kitchen wall cabinets, so I'm familiar with the process.

I'm now thinking of adding LED strips to the plinths (kickboards) but I'm not sure what to do. The strips I used previously have sticky backing so could be installed without profile - either to the top face of the plinth or to the underside of the base units (there's enough overhang). I've also seen profiles which fit onto the plinth (Hafele, for example) and which angle the light downwards at 45 degrees. These profiles can also have a diffuser.

So, what to do? Profile or not? Underside of cabinet, or front face of plinth?

Anybody?

It depends on the product used, the lights I got from Lidi were tough, the ones from Screwfix were not, and I would put the latter in a clear plastic pipe to protect them.

The ones I've fitted previously are from this range

Seamless

I've been very happy with them, and the supplier.

Could try these .amazon.co.uk/HHTUN-Downlight-bookcases-Decorative-Installation/dp/B0F1FRPVYS/ref=sr_1_49_sspa?crid=3ATUI71IQ72V2&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.yS8fnRP2zy1rTKNMkcDHK6K

I ran the strip along the top edge of the plinth using a small L-shaped trim to create a lip—this hides the strip and softens the light spill onto the floor.
Interesting. Which orientation? LED strip on the plinth facing forwards or on the trim facing downwards? Could you draw it? Aluminium?
