Kitchen waste pipe problem.....

Installed a Ikea kitchen. The waste pipe from the sink is too big to go into the UK type push fit pipe that goes to the drain.
I can't find a reducer pipe fitting to do the job.
I rang Ikea who said try heating the pipe and then pushing it over the UK waste pipe but I am not sure this would work or if it would be water tight!
Anyone have a suggestion as to what can be done?

You could try moving to Sweden !! or wherever Ikea kitchens come from
There must be a simple adaptor available......

The saying 'fit for the purpose' springs to my mind. Ikea should make its customers aware that waste pipe sizes are different and that the adapters can be purchased in this country.
I would take your fitting to a plumbers merchants and see if they are available otherwise you may have problems.

Try using a plastic compression instead of pushfit they have more leway and will be o.k for a slightly bigger pipe.
