Am rewiring for my new kitchen which will have the following

4 double sockets
1 x extractor fan
dishwasher, fridge and washing machine
double oven & gas hob ignitor

Now, had thought maybe the following circuits would be right:
2.5mm 32a ring for sockets, spurred for extractor & hob ignition

4mm 20a radial for dishwasher, fridge and washing machine

10mm radial for oven - fusing dependent on cooker (haven't bought it yet)

Does this sound right?

It's tempting to add the ring onto the living room ring next door for ease - 5 x double sockets - but is this advisable?

1 ring for all will be ok, two would be better.

ovens usually plug in (its hobs that draw a lot of current)

what if you need to change your gas hob, put plug that into the ring too

no need to do radial as fridges don't draw that much

kitchens should always have their own ring as it is the most likely place to draw most current, ie kettle on and toaster at same time

BREEZER!

It says double oven.....

Not that I'm being picky.....

Thanks Breezer.

To clarify, are you saying that you reckon only 1 x kitchen ring is necessary with all white goods & sockets on - or that 2 x ring better than 1 x ring and 1 x radial...?

most "average" kitchens do only have one ring, but obviosly 2 would be better
