Laminate Floor Underlay

I am laying a floor in two rooms. One of the rooms has hardboard already over the floorboards to level it. The other room has carpet underlay.

As I am laying floor through both rooms will i be able to lay over existing underlays ?

What would you recommend ?

there is special underlay for laminate flooring,i would recommend using the board type which is better......ian

I have the fibre board already, just wanted to save some time and money.

I have laid boards between both rooms, and i t looks OK. Just wanted to check if you can lay laminate flooring on carpet underlay ?

Is it ok to lay laminate underlay fibre boards over carpet first then put laminate ontop. I would have thought this would provide extra insulation, both noice and heat, along with providing the floating aspect needed for the laminate
