Hey guys, New to the place and kinda new to refinishing wood.
Wanna ask about last step in refinishing a dining table. Done all the stuff of staining and 3 steps of poly coating it. I sanded with 220 1st code, 320 2nd coat and 400 last coat. Also cleaned between each sanding. It is smooth as a babies butt and has a deep shine but I'm still not totally happy with the looks of the poly. Has a little bit of a hazey look to it.
What I was wondering, Can I sand it one more time, but instead of using poly to bring the shine back, plus I don't want to much of a poly build up, is there a wax or something I could use? Oh yeah, I used MinWax cherry stain and MinWax poly.
Hope I haven't confused you! LOL!!
Thanks!

Sand back with 800, apply beeswax or good quality furniture wax and buff.

Did you brush or spray on the poly, sometimes it hazes if you spray in cold/damp conditions.

Then strip it all off, and oil the wood like you should have done, hard man-made coatings are not the thing to use with something natural ........like wood.
