Due to previous water damage I have removed the old chipboard in the bathroom. But what do I put back ?

Found this technical advice (section 6.5) about using 3 layers of ply ( 9 + 9 + 12 mm ) when floorboards have been removed. Seems sensible advice about avoiding vertical joints but multi-layers is not something I have seen on the forum, most articles refer to using 18 or 25mm WBP.

Is this specific advice for a heavier stone floor or would a single layer be sufficient for ceramic tiles ?

If your joists are at 400 centers or less then 18mm ply will be OK for ceramic/porcelain, 25mm if using natural stone.
