We have a repro Victorian mixer tap with a Belfast sink, question: how do we get underneath the sink to get at the leak? how do we fix the leak?, its in the middle part between the taps. Any help would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Is the leak within the tap itself? Do you know the make or can you find something similar on the web you can show to give more idea of your problem.

Has the tap got a swanneck spout? If it is leaking from there it is probably a rubber o ring that has gone. If so you need to remove the spout and replace the o ring.

This is a sink like an oblong box, with the taps fixed to the wall? you may have to pull some tiles off, if you can't see its fixing nuts and the pipework is concealed.

Or if yo're lucky the spout may be removable and have a rubber"O" ring that you can replace like any common sink mixer.

Think we've decided to get a plumber in, - defeatest or what! The taps come out of the worktop at the back of the sink, its difficult to get underneath without taking the sink out. Thanks for your help. R.
