I'm looking for advice please. I had a couple of windows replaced which damaged plaster and so had to remove some of the lining paper so they area could be repaired. The lining paper had been painted with diamond tough paint and so was a nightmare to get off and over been left with a jagged edge. I was hoping to be able to just paint over the paper and plaster but I it will look unsightly. My pairing skills aren't good enough to match up new lining paper. Any advice would be appreciated!

Cut straight down old lining paper.
Knife and something straight to follow.
New lining paper. Overlap. Knife and straight edge through new and old paper.
Remove old paper. Should be easy as only a 5mm ish strip.
Butt up new and old paper.
Fine filler the joint.
320 sand
