Location of thermostat

House is about 5 years old. Gas fired heating and indirect water.

Most rads have TRVs fitted plus thermostat in hall.

Upstairs gets very warm if the thermostat is set to 19-20 C, despite setting TRVs lower (hot air rises).

I am considering moving the thermostat to the lounge to control temperature there. What are the advantages/disadvantages thermostat in the hall?

Every house we have had up to this one had the thermostat in the lounge and no TRVs.

trv and room stat should not be in the same room as they conflict.
