Hi

I have a washbasin on the same floor as my hot water tank and the pressure on the hot water is almost non-existant. It starts off as almost none, splutters then trickles.

All the other hot water taps are on lower floors and the pressure is fine.

is this just a gravity think or air lock or something else

Any surgestion

Thanks

Sounds like an air lock. Is the pipe run to this tap in common with the functional taps?

the main hot water pipe is 22mm, comes out of the tank and head straight down to the floors below.

the supply for the offending tap t's off into 15mm pipe about 200mm below where the main pipe exits the tank.

It then head very slightly uphill! before droping about 50cm and going horizontal for about 1m then up from just above floor level to the tap.

How do i sort out an air lock

Many thanks

Do you have a washing machine with hot and cold feeds?

Or a kitchen mixer tap?

If so, please search on forum first, and come back here if you can't find the answer. Try words like "hot air lock".
