Im current renorvating an old property with a new loft conversion, and installing new runs of ring mains. lighting and smoke alarm cable only ( i am not doing any connecting just running the cables)
1. I know that all cables that that are buried in solid walls have to be shrouded or ducted but do cable in new stud walls have to be run through ducting ???
2.If not how often does the cable have to be fixed to the wooded stud or does it only need to be fixed within a certain distance from the socket outlets.

All advice gratefully recieved
