Hi there.

I have just moved into a new house. There is a burglar alarm installed but it has not been wired into the mains.

The panel is in the understairs cupboard, just above the consumer unit. It looks like it was previously wired into a 3amp FCU, then into the fusebox.

How easy would it be to reinstall this device into the consumer unit, and what would be the correct way to do it?

Flex from the panel to FCU and i'd be surprised if the FCU was not still wired in the consumer unit so it should just be a case of powering it up. However depending on how long since the system was used it will probably require complete re programming. Do you have any codes for the system ?

Yes.. I have all the codes for the system and a user manual.

No. The unit is no longer connected to the consumer unit, there lies the source of my problem.

Would this be better posted in the electric forum?
