.... after removing laminate flooring and replacing with Karndean. There's probably a gap of 20-25mm to make good at the bottom of the door frames. Is it mastic all the way?

Making good door frames....

If i was doing it properly i would replace the door frame but you can get a scrap piece of timber the thickness of the gap and push it in the hole, draw around the shape of the door frame and cut the shape out then glue the piece back in, sand smooth and paint.
