Hi

I just tried to lift the manhole cover in my blockpaving, (the covers that are full of blocks) i took of the caps lifted the 2 handles but i could not budge it.
1, do the handles twist to 'unlock' the cover
2, should the blocks be removed
3, is it a 2 man job
4, im i a wimp!

many thanks

No twisting invloved poss just a lot of muck and clay holding the seal scrape the edge with a driver.
Remove the blocks if you can to make it lighter.
2 person lift is always safer than one.

Totally agree with the above, they can be quite heavy & the sand that grouts the blocks can make them stick. They are a neat fit & need lifting squarley.
