Meeting Laminate Flooring to Carpet in a doorway?

Good morning.

I'm just about to lay a new laminate floor and it's something I've not done before. We're joining it to carpet and I'd purchased a Z shape door bar with carpet gripper on one side to do the join at the door.

However, I've come to start and realise it won't work. I've cut under the architrave (which allows for the expansion gap) but the edge of the board will now be some way clear of the door bar.

It seems to me that the laminate flooring side of the door bar has to come out much further but are different ones available?

Thanks in advance.
