I have a Megaflo CL210HE which i have just reset the air gap on, as per the instructions on the stickked. But i did move a valve which i was not supposed to. It is a stop cock in the "Primary return" line. Should this valve normally be in the open or closed position?

All help wound be appretiated. Thanks,

    Gilly

open, although i'm guessing it's there to balance the system, as you know you didn't have to touch this, if you can remember how many turns you did to close this off then open it back up by the same amount

Thanks for the prompt answer. I can't remember how many turns I closed it, does it matter that much? Is there a rough setting for it?

it shouldn't matter if it's fully open on a properly designed system, i would be tempted to open it fully up & only close it down slightly if you have an issue with the rads when both hot water & heating are working

Thank you very much for all your advice. What sort of effects would I have to look out for: to tell me I was going to have to close it off a bit?

the rads won't work as good as they did, when the hotwater is being fed by the boiler
