I have replaced my plastic light switches and plug sockets with metal one's and have found that the face needs earthing. But the box in the wall is plastic and has no earth point to join the earth wire to from the front plat. What do I do?

metal switches must be earthed. the cable that is already connected to the switches, strip it back a bit and you shoud find a bare copper wire, this is the earth. (do not forget green/yellow sleaving)

There are earth wires runing into the switches but on the instructions it tells you to then run another earth from the earth connection to the box behind. Does this only apply if you have a metal back-box
