Metal window frames and kitchen door

As you can see we have some metal window frames and kitchen door that looks quite dated. We want to refurb the kitchen but other than replacing the windows and door can you think of any ways of making them look a bit better / more modern?
Any ideas how much it would cost to have them replaced with white upvc?

My neighbour has had similar replacement done by a local firm for £1k in white uPVC
