Multipoint type window lock ?.

Hi,
A friend has wooden windows with a narrow brass locking strip recessed into the bottom bar. It looks a bit like a short piece of a multipoint lock and has broken where it is operated by the internal handle.
Can someone tell me please, the technical name for this type?.
