What is the best method for laying decking down, screws or nails.
If l use screws would you recommend drilling a pilot hole for each screw applied.

Always, always drill pilots at the ends of the boards or you'll split the ends out. Also remember that the heads of the screw will do the same so dont murder the screws into the boards

As Arthur says no need to pilot softwood boards but you need to pilot any with a few inches of the end of boards to stop it splitting
