Hermes my post has been moved to another section - hence this new thread.

We live in Manchester and our boat is moored just off the M56.
Since our narrowboat has been finished we have been on two holidays. The first was in June when we did the Four Counties ring. It was a great holiday and the weather was glorious. It took us 12 days in total (never been so brown! )
Our last holiday was in mid September and we did the Cheshire ring with a detour onto the peak forest canal. Again lovely, lovely trip weather was great too.
Prior to buying our boat we did do a couple of hire narrowboat holidays - my favourite canal has to be the Llangollen canal........scenery breathtaking.......lots of lovely canal side pubs.......and plenty of interesting stuff the see and do (staircase locks, swing bridges, lift bridges, tunnels and the famous pontcysylite aqueduct.

There are some real good canal forums where you can ask questions re holidays etc. This is the one that we use regularly:

There is also a good site which tells you how long a trip will take you
