Hi

I'm having an extension build and have got my plumber to order some water underfloor heating, but I think my builder hasn't left enough space for it.

He has had the concrete poured down as few weeks ago, but the UFH instructions say I need 50mm insulation (which I now have) and then need 65+ mm screed.

Can I use thinner insulation and screed as I think I only have 70/80mm max to play with!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

You could use a higher spec insulation, 25mm "Celotex" for example. Still pushing the minimum cover, but have seen 50mm with no probs
