i recently took down a lighting fixture and put up a ceiling fan and it operates as it should,but i want to install a on/off switch for just the fan part.let me give some facts and maybe someone can tell me y i\\\'m confused.the light had 3 different switches operating it at 1 time i took 1 switch out of the circit but capped the wires together and the other 2 switches work normalally.i plan to put a new switch in there soon but i don\\\'t think this is part of the problem.i\\\'m not 100% sure but i think the power source goes to the fan 1st,since there are 4 wires tied together in the juction box.do i have to run a wire to the fan just to switch the main power or can i jump it from one of the switches? although i\\\'m not thinking that will work.
