Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.
We had Vokera Unica HE36 fitted 3 weeks ago and have had problems with radiators ever since. Upstairs are very hot downstairs are cold. The heating installer has been back 4 times and it only lasts 2 days before going off again. He told us it was the pipework and so has changed 3 lots of pipework to downstairs radiators and the manifold. This has not solved the problem and he is now saying we need new radiators. Previous boiler was a vailent combi and worked fine for 12 years but heat exchanger went so decided to replace.
another sugestion would be shutting all radiators upstairs off and forcing the hot water around down stairs?
Sometimes this can help, also you could try balancing the system for example if the upstairs rads are in 15mm and the downstairs are in 10mm then the C/H water will take the easiest route and miss out downstairs all together.
I've just been to a job like this where a 'plumber' had piped in a new radiator, instead of taking a feed off the flow and return, had just taken both feeds for the radiator in 10mm off the return pipe resulting in all of the radiators having to push through a 10mm return.
