I want to change an existing door with a new one but fit it so that the hinges are on the other side. Is as strightforward as just cutting the new hinge slots in the other side of the door frame and fitting a new lock parts to the other side, or am i missing something important?

You've just about covered it Jim. Patch the existing hinge and lock rebates and have a cuppa.

Thanks for the reply. All I have to do now is get the door and find the time to do it.

The light switch will be behind the door. But it is rarely used as there are lights above the work surfaces that each have their own switch. But thanks for the thought.
