I've just acquired a 2003 Micra 1.2 (new shape) and I am having problems getting it to start. After fiddling with the lock / unlock on the key fob, I have now found my way in to the car. But I cannot start it!! I wiggle steering wheel to get past steering lock, turn key as far as it goes, and if I strain the key further than it wants to turn, sometimes the engine starts. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a new ignition switch? Do I need new batteries in the key fob??

I think you need a new ignition switch here - but have you tried the spare key? At least, the NATS system seems to be behaving itself - if it wasn't you'd never get it started. Some new batteries in the fob wouldn't go wrong either - but put new ones in as quick as you can - don't leave the key long without them. Cheers John
