no cental heating tonight

have a worcester 9.24. digital display keeps going on and off with digital box showing random numbers shapes and figures. have had to turn off altogether so no hot water orheating tonight. any ideas. ( we have just had a powercut if that helps) can i fix or do i call a pro

Try turning back on again if it has been off for a while. May have just been the power cut made it glitch (Hopefully )

thanks for responce but tried this and no good. have read about programer moduel needing to be replaced and that you can buy them from b and q, anyone know anything about this?

why have you had to turn it off?

turned it off because boiler keeps trying to fire up constantly but isnt staying on. worried it could damage boiler further or worse!

This is normal I believe. Mine's a Worcester Bosch and it does similar after any power cut. It does it for about ten minutes (and says it will do so in the manual!) and then it all fires up fine. Some kind of start up routine. Always starts up fine after ten minutes.

Not saying is same (sounds exactly same though) but I do get strange digital shapes then number then shape then number etc. for the whole ten minutes.
