No gas to house.

I'm buying a new house, but it has no gas supply.

I intend to get gas central heating fitted, but could do with knowing how much it will cost to have gas mains connected.

The house is part of a block and i know others have it connected.

Any ideas roughly?

Price depends on how far away there gas main is.

They will do a survey and come back to you with a price.

It may also be worth getting a quote for lpg and have a small storage tank in the garden, it its large enough.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think they are obliged to connect you for free if your house is within a certain distance to their gas main.
I had the same when I moved into my present property but was not charged to be connected up to the mains.
Phone Transco or look at their website to see if this is still the case
