no hot water when taps are fully open

I recently had a tap leaking in kitchen. now when i open the taps fully i have no hot water upstairs or downstairs.
i have a combi boiler. i just noticed when i open the hot tap halfway i get hot water.
my rads get hotter when i open the tap fully but no hot water. could this be air in the pipes when i had the leak.
