Hello,
I have a quantity of solid oak floor (20mm T&G) and am planning to install it in an upstairs bathroom fixing it directly to the joists. What would be the best treatment to use, considering the potential for it to get wet !
I have oak floor in other parts of the house and used Osmo Polyx oil and been very pleased with the result, but is this suitable for a bathroom ? What would be the long term effects on such a floor in a bathroom even with the correct treatment?
Or should I just forget about using wood and use stone tiles on marine ply :-(

Thanks in advance of advice.

If you opt for solid Oak in bathroom (wood-engineered would be better) then HardWaxOil is a good option. Make sure you apply a proper maintenance product every 3 - 4 months afterwards to keep the wood protected against drips and condensation
