Ocean alpha 240E; hot water only when heating is on

I have a 6 year old Ocean Alpha 240E boiler. In the last few weeks it is only possible to get hot water when the heating is on and the radiators warm. Even if you set the selector to hot water only, nothing happens.

Thats not surprising as your diverter valve has failed or just possibly the DHW demand switch.

Very common fault after 4-6 years.
