Hi,

I have an Ariston EuroCombi styx sx20 MFFE ce Combi Boiler.

It makes a strange noise only when the CH or CH+HW is on. With Just HW there are no odd noises.

The best way of explaining the noise is that it sounds like the noise steams makes when cold water is spilt onto something very hot.
(This is probably what is happening!!)

Any ideas what this could be??

Thanks.

Mark

possible leak on main heat x.or water coming down flue.could also be condensation within chamber.

No it doesn't trip out.

I seems to be working fine apart from this noise.

as above.if you dont know the gas rules and regs dont remove the chamber front. get a corgi engineer to inspect.

kettling noise? could be main heat exchanger scaled/sludged up.

sentinel make many things for boiler/kettling noises. work pretty well.

HW will always shut the CH off anyway - it can't do both at once. So there may be some other problem if what you're saying is always true. Though I can't think exactly what!
