Odd spot on ceiling

Hi, I’ve been in a light pink colour. I have this patch see the picture where the paint is changing the cover the original white. Does anyone know why this happened?

What's above the ceiling? The loft or another floor? Doesn't really look like damp, is it cold/damp to the touch, did it suddenly appear?

Hi it’s a bedroom.

It feels no different to the other parts. It was white before so I didn’t notice it until I’d done the first coat. There is no yellowish damp stain. Odd!

Was thinking skim filler but stain blocking loads easier thanks

Ceiling was white originally.

I painted it light pink

After first coat I noticed the lighter patch.

Oh OK, then as above seal with something like Zinsser Gardz, then paint over as normal.

It looks like filler under paint or a stain

Rub back if it's filler

If not oil based undercoat , dry overnight , paint

Was it the red zinser Stain block you used ?
