:( I am oil base painting my kitchen cabinets. I have mixed it with penetrol, this is my second and final coat, and it is drying in a very wierd pattern, sort of looks like the outside of an orange peel. I didn't have this problem with the first coat. What am I doing wrong, please help?

As I understand it, PENETROL is a water miscible, forest green, drilling fluid additive, designed for use as a rate of penetration enhancer and wetting agent while drilling problematic formations.

Is this what you are mixing with the paint? To make it penetrate further?

You might put the first coat on using some thinning agent, but after that, unless it is a mineral oil based thinner like white spirit, you can put it on as supplied.

If the stuff I described is what you are using I would expect problems.
