Had the boiler (Glowworm hideaway 70) serviced about 2 months ago. The plumber was concerned that it was sitting in a sizeable amount of water which wasn't coming from the boiler (we had problems with flooding, leaking etc from the roof).

Dried out the water and everything seemed ok...this week we've noticed that its damp at the bottom again and now there's a smell of hot oil (almost like a garage smell..if you know what I mean).

Any ideas before we get him back? Ring and let a message for him but would like any advice etc first - don't want to get a new boiler as its only 5 years old if its fixable.

Rightio....we've used 2 litres of sentinel leak sealer...which worked wonders for about a week. The smell had gone (which we think was water from the boiler leaking onto the floor and then been boiled by the boiler on top of it!

But...the smell has started to creep back and the boiler had gone out again this morning...

any other ideas?
