    Hi

We have a wickes 40 boiler, and British Gas capped it off last week as it was leaking carbon monoxide in to the kitchen from the rear flue seal. British Gas told us that parts are obsolete, but we've found some online - but we don't know the correct part name that we're looking for. Any ideas what the rear flue seal would be called?

    Cheers

Get a local gas engineer to get you the right parts and fit.
    British gas are hopeless.
The boiler is actually a Halstead although branded as wickes.

BG did not even mention selling us a new boiler, there was no sales pitch...

We've approached a gas fitter, who also said parts are obsolete, which is why I want to try and source one myself, then have it fitted.

Can anyone help with what the part would be called? Or where to find a wickes 40 manual online? I've searched and searched with no joy.

It's a halstead boiler you'll have more luck searching for the manual for halstead and then you'll know the part number to look for.

wen posting on here you are better off not mentioning bg as most of the people that reply let there dislike of them cloud there judgement. there tunnel vision then normally redirects the entire post to another bg bashing. (see above)

if you can be more specific about the part you require I will have a look, but if bg say they are obsolete and a local independent also verifies that I would say the chances are it is.
