The windows and doors on our house are all UPVC having been put in in about 1996 or thereabouts.

The back door catch has broken. It is a small piece of cast metal that is held into a casing about 10 cm by 1.5 cm.
The door lock fixings work fine.
Having rung various places I am told that the small piece of metal cannot be replaced and that i need a totally new door locking set for £200!
Can anyone offer me any advice on where i could get this small part from? ..i have tried everywhere locally - even the recycling tip with no success!!
