We have a pc at home which runs win 98 and xp from 2 different hard drives. When it's booted up into win 98 there is a message in the middle of the screen in a blue box, which says Out of Range. This message cannot be moved and is always in the front. I think it's to do with the moniter (Relysis flat screen) because it has the same appearance as the No Input Signal message whenyou switch off the pc.

I would try reinstalling the software but I can't find it and the monitor is not listed on win 98's default list of monitors. Any ideas?

It could be that you have the resolution or refresh rate within Windows 98 set too high for the monitor.

You need to boot in to safe mode (I think it's either F6 or F8 during boot up, I can never remember!) to change the settings.

Windows 98 is sometimes fussy with flat screens. You could try the relisys website for monitor drivers or change the monitor type to plug & play.
