I've got an outside pir lamp at my house, its only got a low energy bulb in, its not a security lamp. When it operates, the lights in the lounge dim. It cant be overloading the circuit, theres not that many fittings on it.
Could it be a bad connection? there's laminate flooring where I suspect the connection to be so im hoping not.
Cheers

If wired correct it should not be able to dim your lights due to overload as the fuse or trip should go first.
There must be a wiring fault somewhere. It could as you say be bad connection but I would also suspect incorrect wiring.
But it does need investigation as a bad connection can be a fire risk.
