Do outdoor lights have to be spurred from the nearest radial or ring socket via a fcu and 2.5mm cable or can you connect up to the indoor lighting circuit. The reason I ask is there is a redundant switch and wiring in an ideal place for me to connect up to, the cable size is 1.5mm and the total wattage of the lights will be 400w. I will be having a new consumer unit soon and have a 20 amp mcb and fcu ready to fit for outdoor power and lighting but it would save a lot of work if it's ok to use the existing cable and switch.
