Hi all,

All is progressing well with the extension, conservatory down and foundation dig is due to start. I have decided to save money and use the patio door from the conservatory in the extension. It is nearly the full wall height, which is where my question lies.

Do I use one of these

I presume that the slope on the profile is to accomodate a single story hip roof as I am having, and I just need to have a course of bricks one side and block the other.

Is this correct for my situation?

Many thanks,

Graham

The slope is there not to cater for the slope of the rafters, but to allow any water seepage through the outer skin to drain to the outside.

Those lintels are galvanised and so are intended to have a flexible cavity tray over them. If you are only putting one course of brick on the outside, the bricks will be loose as they will not be properly bonded to anything.

I would consider another solution rather than just putting one course of bricks along it. Catnic do lintels which are coated and do not need a dpc. They do lintels specifically for eaves situations.
