My latest PC (like most now)has the ability of reading various cards in the tower. However my camera card is not being read. The light above it comes on but whichever software I am using I just cannot seem to import the images...any ideas. using Vista.

You can try to format your card...But I'm not sure that it help you!

Wanleg, it's a sandisk Extreme 4gb SD (HD video) not being read. However I found out today that the PC is reading another 'plain' sandisk SD 1gb. The PC is an Acer Desktop Aspire m1201 if thata any help?

The problem is not in PC i think! Try to format this card on your friend's computer!

Course all information will be erased from the card. But I think there is no other way to fix this card.

me thinks loraS is a spammer....

Do not reformat the card- use a non windows based OS to read and copy the contents.

Try "hiren boot" cd or ubuntu, or one of the recommended progs.

After you retrieve the info you might then need to reformat- the fat tables might be screwed.

Can you 'read' the card using the camera alone - actually view\reprise\edit the recorded stuff?
