Anyone know the torque setting for these bolts?
A single 10mm at the bottom and a 12mm studded bar for the top.

Haynes manual doesn't mention it anywhere.

I nicked the photo from that site. It just says to tighten the bolts 'moderately and evenly'

But it doesn't specify how moderate or how even.

It's more concerning that the bolts are different sizes.

I seem to remember reading somewhere, a list of general torque settings based on the size of the bolt. Although it was a general engineering site, not specifically for autos.

The torque for tightening the water pump bolts on a Peugeot 206 is 1.5 Nm. After tightening the bolts, you should check that the water pump turns freely.

Found that on the web, hope it helps.

That can't be right. Even a 1/4 drive torque wrench starts at 5Nm, a 3/8 usually starts at 15.
Just nip them up tight with a spanner.

Bonkers. I found that using Google's AI search, it reassures me that we've got a long way to go before the robots take all of our jobs.

I once saw a reference to injector bolts on a 1.6PSA DV6 engine as being 2nm. Which also sounds a bit lean!

To be honest, and without trying to sound like a smart arse, you don’t need a torque wrench for this....I doubt if you’d actually get one in, never mind trying to turn it.
Use a 1/4 drive socket, nip the bolts up, tighten them diagonally if possible as you do so, and then turn maybe another 30 degrees.

No diagonally, only a pair of different sized bolts.
All done now, no idea if it's worked but I'll flush it with water tomorrow.

Need to pick up some coolant, always a minefield, red, blue, green, pink?
Is the Prestone stuff any good? (cheap in Tesco's)

With water pumps, I pay attention to the mating faces of the pump and the cylinder block.....everything must be clean.
If there is a gasket, some blue Hylomar does no harm, an O ring is an alternative design.
I go for the red 5 year antifreeze, sometimes it’s nearer purple - Comma, Carplan or Quantum for me.
I can’t comment on the Prestone stuff, just see what it says on the bottle.
