Oddly, it is mid week again, and I have a couple pics.

Carrying out an EICR today

A CU that is VERY tricky to get to (yep, it's around 300mm deep inside a void thats the exact width and height of the CU).....

Whats odd.....?
Circuits 1 & 2 are commercial washing machines, remaining 4 circuits are two small lighting ciruits and 2 small socket circuits.

The supply looks a tad small for the first one, when you say circuit 1 and 2 are you counting from the main switch?

I was counting left to right. Two 30 amp ccts for two machines. The submain in is only 6mm t&e and is on a 63amp mcb! Looking at the old legends on the walls, it was originally on a 40amp mcb. I reckon these two machines have been added fairly recently, and there were tripping issues.

I take it you gave it an unsatisfactory result, for both installations. Can't see an earth on the left hand VOELCB, the right hand one VOELCB is a feed to a private meter by the looks of it from slightly undersized cable.
Gotta love the string holding up the fuse switch tho.

What's with the multiple cable sizes in the right hand breaker on the first board ?

With the 63A breaker?

I think the 63amp breaker was put in due to the 40amp tripping. Thats certainly what it looks like. The 63amp is not tripping as far as I am aware.

And the B16. Is that one of the lighting circuits?

The B16 is feeding some 1.5mm to an FCU for the boiler controls in the other pic.

What's with the multiple cable sizes in the right hand breaker on the first board ?

That is feeding around 5 sockets - a bit of a mix of sizes, but all fine with the 20amp MCB feeding them. Nothing particularly wrong there.

How in gods name was the cover fitted in pic one?

Fitting the cover back on was a breeze, it was getting it off that was a struggle, as the expanding foam and practically glued it in position! I very nearly gave up on removing the lid to that board.
