Hi,

I am looking at building a pitched roof pavilion 8x 12. I've seen some free plans which had used 6x6 for the 4 post. This seems a bit much. I was going to replace it with 4x4. Its going to have a plyboard roof with shingle.

Would you think this would still be strong enough? I was going to use 4x4 across the top and sides with corner braces for supports.

many thanks

Were the plans for an 8 x 12?
If so then I would stick with the plans as they are the designers/builders.
If the plans were for a larger structure then you may, (I'm saying you MAY), be able to reduce them but you would need someone with more knowledge to advise you correctly.
I am just a DIYer.
