Where I've had some windows bricked in I need to patch this up with plaster. The plasterer that use to skim my new walls and ceilings has left me some "browning" to do the job myself. Will I be able to do this with one coat or will I need to use this a backing and finish off with a multi-finish?

Cheers

depends what kind of finish you want.... and if it's going to be in a position where it's going to be seen.....

BUT if you work the browning you can get quite a smooth finish........

[edit] ps i'm not (or claim) to be a plasterer.... but i have plastered 3 of my own rooms (to a standard) that isn't professional but it is better than some *ahem* professional jobs i've seen!....... (plus it's saved me a shed loads of money i can't afford)[/edit]

For a proper job yes :!:
As king.module says you can cheat by just using the browning if for example there was a cupboard going over it but a better cheat if you must is to mix some multi finish with the browning for a diy one coat plaster
