plastic waste pipe cutter?

saw a bloke on u tube cutting through a plastic pipe with a piece of nylon thread or something similar.( by moving it back and forward)
anyone know about that or otherwise a not too expensive cutter, they look expensive at Screwfix

While cheap you won't get a decent cut (unless super good at it) over a more expensive pipe cutter.

that looks better than what I saw on u tube, wonder how long it takes to cut thru 40mm waste, I;m fed up using a hacksaw especially in situ
