Putting in an electric shower, presently the cold supply to bath comes from the header tank. Should the shower supply come from the header tank or from the cold feed?

If you're installing a standard electric shower then it can come from the tank or from the rising main.
Though if you take it from the main I believe you need to install a non-return double-check valve to meet the water regs and stop dirty water siphoning back.
