Ply behind tile backer board for hanging units

I have a stud partition in my bathroom that I need to fix a wc and wall hung basin vanity to. I need to reinforce between the studs with ply to give a good fixing. What thickness ply is required for this use?
9mm

stick a couple cls off cuts in the right place. ply is dear. no need for the bog . the tile is more than strong enough to support the cistern if you want to screw it. I don’t even screw cisterns , 2 blobs of silicone.
