I'm trying to work out a design for my new bathroom which will be using an electric shower (10.5kW).

I won't be fitting it (electrically), but will be sorting the plumbing to it. Can the unit go above the bath itself, or does it have to on one side, sort of on the other side of the shower curtain?
I was just thinking that if the unit was over the bath taps, it would surely get wet?? with all that leccy around??

depends on shower make / design, so long as they are not in the bath most are ok, you must be carefull of cable entry though

electric showers are going to get sprayed and are designed for this. (its pretty much a given with a hand held shower head that anythign within a few meters not behind a partition or cuirtain is going to get sprayed)

ideally cable entry to a shower unit is best done by a burried cable entering through the back. If this is not feasible then appropiate precautions would be needed to seal the conduit/trunking.

the shower can go on wall above bath no problem. where the cable enters the shower itself, normally from the top, its impossible for the water to enter the electrical connections there is no need to seal up entry point, all done in its design
